The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara has said that the Commission does not play with welfare of the pilgrims.

He stated this recently in Tel Aviv, Israel during a meeting of the Ground Handlers involve in this year's pilgrimage operations with members of the Federal Government Delegations at the Nigerian Embassy.

He commended specially the officials of AtlasJet Airline for being steadfast and consistent in airlifting the Nigerian pilgrims.

In the same vein, he applauded the other Ground Handlers; Tabar Tours and SunWay Tours for living up to expectations.

He explained that the Commission was on its 6th batch of the airlift operations of the pilgrims and would continue to do what was needed for a hitch free pilgrimage operations this year.

Mr. Opara also revealed that the Commission had temporarily stopped Pilgrims from visiting Egypt until the security situation in the Sinai Peninsular improves.

He further stated that Tabar Tours had handled over 3,500 pilgrims so far in this year's pilgrimage exercise while SunWay Tour had handled over 1,000 pilgrims.

The NCPC boss also hinted that the Commission now operates three dimensional pilgrimage operations in One Calendar year. This includes Easter pilgrimage which begins from the end of February to April and Family pilgrimage which begins from the end of July to August.

He called on the Senators and the House members to avail themselves of the opportunity of the family pilgrimage to go with their families to Israel to pray because according to him "The family that prays together stick together".
