AviaDev Africa delivers world class event

AviaDev Africa, the premier forum dedicated to growing connectivity to, from and within the African continent, took place 10 days ago in Cape Town and brought together 200 attendees comprising airports, airlines, tourism authorities, governments and industry suppliers.

During the meeting, AviaDev announced their big hairy audacious goal to connect the largest airport in each African country with one another. Jon Howell, Founder and CEO, AviaDev said, "Since its inception, AviaDev has been put together with a purpose: to add value for the industry and help facilitate the conversations and education for the industry to achieve increased connectivity. As AviaDev, this goal ensures this event aligns with the industry goal to achieve open skies and a more prosperous future"

The key highlights of the conference and specific outcomes have been compiled in a white paper by Midas Aviation, a boutique aviation consultancy, in order to hold the industry to account.

All of the sessions from AviaDev Africa 2019 are now available to watch via youtube on the AviaDev channel.

The event ended with an inspiring session led by the next generation of aviation professionals who tackled the long-standing issue of how to attract and train human capital amongst other pertinent issues.

The young leaders were brought to the event through the AviaDev Ambassador programme and were given the opportunity to outline their thoughts and views on the industry.

John Grant, Partner, Midas Aviation said, "It was refreshing to hear open discussions with key industry players, which gave the attendees a clear understanding of the challenges and achievements of the industry. When we calculated the untapped potential of the industry it was almost $20bn annually which represents a massive opportunity for the continent."

AviaDev Africa offers attendees the ability to pre-arrange meetings in professional surroundings, offering the best chance to make a real connection.
